Senior National Rankings

Rankings:
Are derived from points earned in the 52 week period preceding the date of calculation.

Ranking Lists:
The English Ranking Lists will cover Men's & Women’s Singles, Men's & Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Doubles rankings relate to the performance of the individual, not pairs. They will be updated monthly, and published in full on BADMINTON England's website.

Points System:
Players win points according to how far they progress in the draw of a particular event. Points allocation will start with the winners and work through to first round losers. Points won are dependent on the grade of the tournament. If players have a bye in the first round and lose in the second round they receive first round losers points. Walkovers count as a win at any stage of the draw. If players have a bye in the first round, a walkover in the second round and lose in the third round - they receive third round losers’ points. Where groups are of different sizes players in the smaller groups are credited with a game only if they win one.

Ranking:
The Ranking Points to be used to determine the ranking of individual players are calculated as follows: For players who have competed in : 8 or fewer tournaments their ranking points are determined by dividing their TOTAL points earned by 8. 9 or 10 tournaments their ranking points are determined by dividing their TOTAL points earned by the number of tournaments played. 11 or more tournaments their ranking points are determined by dividing the TOTAL of their best 10 results by 10. Players are then ranked in descending order of Ranking Points.
